Each piece in the Fold collection showcases the natural fluid qualities of handblown glass, with folds and dents blown into the form as a visual rebellion against uniform factory moulds. The bold colours are set against contrasting flexes and can be used as both table and pendant lights.
Just a glimpse of the ceramic ware collection from the House of Rym, a creative collaboration between the founding duo Rym Tounsi and Zied Youssef (Tunisia), and the commissioned illustrators (for the patterns) Anna Backlund and Elisabeth Dunker (Sweden).
GALLERY LOUPE TO FEATURE WORK OF AUSTRALIAN JEWELRY ARTIST NICOLE POLENTAS
MONTCLAIR, NJ - Nicole Polentas currently resides in Australia, but her connections to her family’s origins in Crete are an important influence on her jewelry. An accomplished gold and silversmith, she draws on her Greek heritage for inspiration and for the unique manner in which she exhibits her current body of work in a setting meant to depict the psychomanteum - the naturally occurring rockpools of myth where ancient Greeks would go to consult the oracles.
Polentas has created her personal psychomanteum made of plinths to display her jewelry. The installation includes water which re-creates the aquatic area where one could commune with the gods. The jewelry pieces themselves are fascinating and intricate constructions of metal wire and steel sheets, sterling silver, plastic and paint, ornamented with personal photographs and bits of traditional music from Crete known as riztitka. For the artist, the song fragments are a bridge to her sense of belonging to a place she is rooted in but no longer lives. Her past and present become connected in her very personal jewelry.
Gallery Loupe will bring Polentas’ work to the United States for her first solo exhibition in this country from November 10 - December 1, 2012. The opening night reception with the artist will be held on November 10 at 7-9 pm.
Humans since 1982 take part in the annual international film festival Da!Fest in St. Petersburg, Russia. The design duo uses this special occasion to launch the product video of ‘The Clock Clock white’. The clock is available in limited edition through Victor Hunt, Brussels.

Our newly launched Soap Stones will be on display and for sale at Martha Stewart’s American Made Event at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Station. This is a two day sale which begins Oct 17 (8am - 7:30pm) and ends on Oct 18 (8am - 5:30pm). Our handcrafted Soap Stones will officially debut at the MoMA Design Store in 2013, but they are available today and tomorrow at this special event!
Soap Stones are pure vegetable-based glycerine soap that we make and hand cut in our studio. Soap Stones are for use or decoration and each stone is individually cut and shaped. Available in 3 sizes called Nugget 2 oz, Stone 5oz, and Rock 9oz. Comes in 7 different color and scent combinations: Jade/Eucalyptus, Amber/Cedarwood, Citrine/Lemon Basil, Rose Quartz/Palmorosa, Onyx/Black Pepper, Aquamarine/Camphor, Crystal/Unscented.
